Block Hero is developed by Misaligned Games (“we”, “us”).
We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the game is played and improve it. PostHog collects anonymous product-analytics events (e.g. when a run starts and ends, and its outcome), an anonymous device identifier, and an approximate (country-level) location derived from your IP address. We do not collect your name, email, or precise location, and we do not sell your data.
On a small, sampled share of sessions on higher-end devices, we may record an anonymized replay of your gameplay — the game screen and your on-screen interface interactions (menus, the backpack, the HUD) — to understand how the game plays and diagnose usability issues. These replays are not tied to your identity and contain no personal information, and we do not record anything outside the game. Most sessions and lower-end devices are never recorded.
PostHog acts as our data processor. Event data and any session replays are stored on PostHog’s EU infrastructure.
The game saves your progress and settings on your own device. If you use cloud saves, that progress is also stored with our infrastructure provider so it can sync across your devices; it is not used for advertising and is never sold.
The app uses your device’s internet access to send anonymous analytics events and to sync cloud saves. No other personal data leaves your device.
The Android app includes the AppsFlyer SDK to measure which ad campaigns lead to installs.
For this purpose it collects your device’s advertising ID (GAID) and basic install and
app-open events, and declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission.
AppsFlyer processes this attribution data on our behalf, and aggregate campaign results are shared
with our advertising partners (e.g. AppLovin) to measure and optimize campaigns. We do not use it
to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not sell it. You can reset or delete your
advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
The game is not directed at children under 13.
To opt out of analytics or request deletion of data associated with your device, email hello@misaligned.games and we will action it. We delete your analytics events, device identifier, approximate location, and any session replay recordings within 30 days of collection or of your request, whichever is sooner; we retain nothing beyond that window. On request we also instruct AppsFlyer to delete the attribution data associated with your device.
